When teaching online, you are not alone. There is support for faculty across campus to help with writing course learning outcomes, creating course content, integrating technology into online courses, preparing course assessments, instructional materials, activities, and interactions, and so on.

Center for Teaching Excellence

The Center for Teaching Excellence provides support for faculty professional development, pedagogical consultations, instructional design support, and graduate teaching assistant professional development.  

• Instructional Design Services: The instructional design team can help you with moving a course to online instruction. We also provide one-on-one consultants, pedagogical assistance with face-to-face, online, hybrid, and blended courses, and the identification of technologies to support teaching and learning.

Office of Distributed Learning

The Office of Distributed Learning assists faculty and academic units with online course delivery, from providing guidance through the course approval process to helping with technical production and course accessibility.

• Course Production: Build a rich media experience with our professional course production studios. Our production studios are equipped with high-quality audio and video equipment, studio lighting, green screen, lightboard, and photo-ready backgrounds for lecture capture and other media content.
• Accessibility: Make your audio and video content accessible to all students. Our staff will work with you to make sure your video and audio content is ADA compliant.
• Test Proctoring: We provide test proctoring services for approved distributed learning courses. Access administrative support and test proctoring options for paper and computer formats.

eLearning Services

eLearning Services at the Division of Information Technology supports Blackboard and other technologies.

Thomas Cooper Library

The Thomas Cooper Library provides essential services for teaching including:

•  Educational Films Collections (collection of streaming films, DVDs, Blu-rays, and videotapes for classroom and educational uses),
• Electronic Reserves (add journal articles, film clips, e-books, book chapters, and other resources),
• Library Guides, and
• Schedule Library Instruction. 

Student Disability Resource Center 

The Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) promotes inclusion by ensuring equal access to all aspects of the Carolina experience for students with disabilities by facilitating the provision of reasonable accommodations, providing modifications, and serving as consultants to faculty, staff, and campus partners.
