USC is a member of the Quality Matters Program (QM). QM promotes and improves the quality of online education and student learning nationally and internationally. Faculty, staff, and students can create accounts to access a variety of resources, professional development, and a course peer review process.
QM research focuses on improvements in the QM Quality Assurance process. If you are interested in conducting QM-focused research or finding studies to support the use of QM, start with the resources listed in this section.
QM Conferences and Resources give you access to the QM community. Learn, share, and connect with other QM members and institutions in the US and internationally.
Strengthen your expertise and expand your skill set through QM workshops and resources focused on improving the quality of online and blended courses. There are opportunities for every audience: instructional designers, faculty, administrators, adjunct instructors, and more.
The QM Higher Education Rubric includes eight General Standards and 42 Specific Standards with a focus on course design to ensure that online and blended courses encompass best practices and procedures.
A formal QM review can culminate in a course being QM Certified when it meets Standards at an 85% level. Resources are available for course preparation before starting the review process.
