Student Veterans Association
Our veteran student-led organization is committed to assisting fellow veterans, service members and their families make a successful and enjoyable transition to higher education and civilian life. Active-duty service members, National Guardsmen, reservists, veterans, ROTC members and supporters are invited to join. There are no dues to join or to maintain your membership. Let's get together:
- The SVA meets one Friday per month at American Legion Post #6 (200 Pickens Street in Columbia).
- Also once per month, an SVA member hosts a family dinner at their home. Dinners are family-friendly events, so bring your whole crowd.
Veterans Alumni Council
The Veterans Alumni Council works to unite and organize the university's veteran alumni, current student veterans and supporters. The council helps veteran students find funding to pursue advanced degrees and connects them to businesses looking for highly skilled people. The VAC is also the hub for other assistance, including locating housing and other Veterans Administration benefits.
Veterans Student Services Advisory Committee
The Veterans Student Services Advisory Committee includes participants from university departments. The committee gathers information related to the interests and needs of current or prospective veteran students and makes recommendations for improving services related to veteran students at South Carolina.
Student Government
The University of South Carolina Student Government is a student-run organization
that represents and advocates for all students. Student Government works closely with the university's administration, faculty and staff to represent
the interests of students, to preserve and protect the traditions of the university
and to support students and student organizations in their academic and community
endeavors.
Graduate Student Association
The Graduate Student Association is dedicated to the advancement and development of the nearly 7,000 graduate and professional students at South Carolina.
