Description: The collections and gallery assistant require working with USC Lancaster’s Art Collection and Special Collection while also assisting with gallery events and exhibits. This position will provide a unique opportunity to work with the only Native American Studies program currently available in South Carolina and hands on experience with the largest collection of Catawba Pottery.
Special Requirements: The duties and responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following: checking Collection inventory; cataloging documents for new items; updating collection records, as needed; assisting with exhibit openings and art sales; assisting with exhibit installation and production; label creation; event planning; contacting vendors; printing and filing reports; The ideal applicant will be able to use standard Microsoft programs-- Word, PowerPoint, etc.. --and be willing to learn museum software. - Collaborate with museum staff to develop and execute design concepts;
- Assist in creating a mock-up brochure for the upcoming exhibit;

- Help assemble the final presentation materials for printing.
