Greek Life, business clubs and service/philanthropy opportunities.
Hello! I'm a sophomore at the South Carolina Honors College. On campus, I'm involved in multiple business clubs, Greek Life, the Treasurer's Staff of Student Government, service clubs and intramural & club sports. After graduation, I hope to pursue a career in the financial services or corporate finance industries.

Why I chose the South Carolina Honors College
The South Carolina Honors College was the only school that provided everything I was looking for in a college. University of South Carolina is a large state-school in the SEC, so I have loved participating in the sports culture with lots of school spirit. But the Honors College allows me to study with driven scholars and create strong relationships with my professors. I also felt the most valued by the South Carolina Honors College staff throughout the application and decision-making process, and that has not changed since being on campus.
My advice for prospective students: Make your college decision with a holistic approach. Rankings matter, but overall fit is more important. Think about what criteria you value most!
Favorite question during an information session: What is it like being an out-of-state student?
With around half of Carolina students being from out of state, I was far from alone. It has been no challenge making friends and fitting in as an out-of-state student. It's easy at the University of South Carolina to become involved in clubs that interest you and meet new people. Being part of the Honors College gave me access to a built-in smaller community, and I have found many great friends though the Honors Residence Hall and my Honors courses.
