Why I chose the South Carolina Honors College

I never thought I would want to stay in-state for college. After searching all over the country, I visited the Honors College. Immediately, I saw the culture of support and kindness in the students and the faculty's commitment to a thriving student body. This is when I knew I did not need to search far and wide to find my next home. The Honors College proved to be a safe space, allowing me to fully explore all of my interests while presenting countless opportunities I never thought I would have. From my first visit, I knew the Honors College would be full of my best friends and a huge aid in achieving my goals!

My advice for prospective students: You are your own harshest critic! It can be easy to be hard on yourself in your academic and personal life, especially going into a new environment, but there is no reason to worry. All first-year students are in the same boat, so don't be afraid to make a fool of yourself trying something new!

Favorite Honors class: Experimental music workshop is a class I never thought I would be in, but I can not say enough good things about it! I learned so much about a field I had never known about before and really expanded my horizons.
