Distinguished Young Honors Alumni Award
The Distinguished Young Honors Alumni Award is presented to a young graduate of the
South Carolina Honors College who has demonstrated excellence professionally or has
also contributed time and effort to the betterment of the Honors College or society.
Eligibility Considerations
- Candidate must be an alumnus or alumna of the South Carolina Honors College who is
age 35 or younger.
- It is preferred that the candidate is able to attend the Homecoming Reception, but
extenuating circumstances can warrant alternative technological communication when
receiving the award instead.
- Candidate must not be running for or currently holding a public office.
- The award will recognize professional excellence or contributions for the betterment
of the Honors College or society.
Nominations
Nominators must submit a nomination letter. Nominations will be active for three (3)
years or until the nominee is no longer eligible for the award, whichever occurs first.
Nominations may be updated during the three-year period.

Announcement and Presentation
- The award will be presented at the Honors College Homecoming Reception during USC’s Homecoming Weekend.
- In August, the Director of Alumni Engagement will inform the recipient of their selection
and confirm attendance for the Reception.

Herman Phillips is the co-founder and CEO of Cinapse, a cloud-based scheduling software
company that is revolutionizing the film and television industry. His role in creating
Cinapse earned him a spot on the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

Brad & Jenni Williams
Brad Williams is co-founder of Highlands Wealth Group, and Jenni Williams is executive
producer of special projects for WYFF News 4. Before starting his own business, Brad
worked for financial institutions such as Wells Fargo Private Bank of Greenville and
BB&T Wealth of Pawleys Island. While working for WYFF News 4 in Greenville since 2013,
Jenni has produced everything from evening news to WYFF 4's weekly Spanish newscast,
Aquí Para Ti, an initiative that she spearheaded.
