A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Armen Shaomian has extensive background in performing arts, higher education, and project management consulting. He has brought guest artists to visit his courses, including multi-Grammy and Academy Award winner Burt Bacharach and Pulitzer Prize recipient William Bolcom.
Cathy Gustafson creates experiential learning opportunities for USC students at mega-sized golf tournaments. In 2020, Gustafson received a Garnet Apple award, USC's most prestigious teaching award.
Chair for the Department of Retailing, Jeff Campbell has industry experience in buying, merchandise planning, store planning, merchandise allocation, inventory planning, inventory accounting, warehousing and loss prevention, as well as store management.
Bringing a wealth of international, luxury hotel knowledge to the classroom, Marketa Kubickova shares years of hotel management experience and cutting-edge research. She also leads study abroad trips each year. In addition, "Dr. K" was named College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management Teacher of the Year for 2019–2020.
A specialist in retail law and teaching innovation, Karen Edwards is the 2018 Retailing Teacher of the Year and recipient of USC’s Integrity Award. Known for her kind demeanor and high standards, she leads several study abroad classes focused on fashion. Recently she was also awarded the Garnet Apple, USC's most prestigious teaching award.
After a successful career as the first female president of a professional sport franchise, Susan O’Malley came to South Carolina to share her executive knowledge of sport and entertainment management and to help students make career connections.
As one of the country’s foremost experts on theme parks and attractions, Scott Smith knows how to make learning fun. He was voted as the 2018 HRSM Teacher of the Year by his students.
A model mentor, motivator and educator, Adonis “Sporty” Jeralds was named the 2019 HRSM Teacher of the Year and formerly led a staff of 60+ full-time employees and a $12 million budget as manager of the Charlotte Coliseum.
