National Poison Prevention Week
National Poison Prevention Week raises awareness of poison prevention nationwide during the third full week of March every year. The week is an opportunity to highlight the dangers of poisonings for people of all ages and promote community involvement in poisoning prevention.
National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week
National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week, an annual health observance in March / April, connects teens with resources to shatter the myths about drugs and alcohol. There are countless activities that teens, parents, caregivers, and teachers can do to learn about the effects of drugs on the brain and body.
National Preparedness Month
National Preparedness Month is recognized each September to promote family and community disaster planning now and throughout the year. The most active months for tropical storm systems are August and September, during which South Carolina can experience multiple hurricanes or tropical storms within weeks of each other. 
National Food Safety Education Month 
National Food Safety Education Month in September encourages individuals to take an active role in preventing foodborne illness. Each year, these illnesses result in an estimated 128,000 hospitalizations and 3,000 deaths. Following simple food safety tips can help lower your chance of getting sick.
