Facilities

The Decho laboratory is within the  USC’s Arnold School of Public Health, Department of Environmental Health Sciences, located in Public Health Research Center (PHRC). He also has an office located in Discovery I (DISC).

Laboratory and Instrumentation

The Decho Microbial Interactions Laboratory is 1,250 sq. ft. and located on the 5th floor of the PHRC building. The lab is outfitted for microbiology, the processing of field and laboratory samples, chemical extractions, experimentation, manipulations of microbial cultures, 1- and 2-D PAGE, EPS characterization and quorum sensing, etc. Instrumentation includes:  a Leica SP5 Confocal scanning laser microscopy system, a Senterra Raman microscope, a Thermo-Nicolet FT-IR system; a Lyophilizer (freeze dryer), Ultra-Cold freezers, a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, centrifuges, a Molecular Dynamics fluorescence plate reader, light and fluorescence microscopy, and other standard instrumentation and equipment.
