Engagement and Outreach

The Center for Environmental Nanoscience and Risk seeks to translate ideas and information to and engage in dialogue with external groups with interests in the broadly defined area nanoscience and environment. These parties include the public, students at all levels, the scientific community, government and the private sector.

Conferences Organized

FFF2018 Conference

The CENR organized the 19th International Symposium on Field- and Flow-Based Separations (FFF2018), which will was held in May 2018, in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. As one of the globally leading conferences on molecular and nanoscale separations, the FFF2018 brought together scientists, engineers, regulators and industry concerned with separation and characterization of: manufactured nanoparticles and nanomaterials; environmental nanoparticles, colloids and particles; natural and synthetic macromolecules; proteins, biomacromolecules and biomarkers; pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceutics and drug carrier systems; cells and viruses; and food and agriculture.

2014 Nano Conference

The CENR organized the 9th International Conference on the Environmental Effects of Nanoparticles and Nanomaterials, which was held from September 7th –11th, 2014 in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. The 9th ICEENN brought together researchers, regulators and industry to discuss the potential hazards and risks of current and future applications in the key sector of nanotechnology, along with mechanisms to bring about risk reduction while maintaining the economic and social benefits of the sector.
