We are proud to offer a research-driven and multidisciplinary marine science program, which features a broad-based education with room for specialized research.
We offer a comprehensive education across the multiple disciplines associated with marine science. Our program upholds USC’s research-intensive focus and places a high priority on advancing knowledge in the field. We offer financial support for qualified applicants, including a teaching assistant stipend, a tuition waiver and health insurance.
Receive a thorough education in marine science with insights from fields including engineering, chemistry, biology, policy and statistics.
Conduct hands-on scientific research in our several laboratories, including an on-site wet lab with flowing seawater.
Baruch Marine Field Lab
Discover experiential learning and field research opportunities, and gain access to our state's estuaries and coasts.
Explore the ocean and its changes through satellite data at one of the few universities to offer satellite oceanography.
What You’ll Study
Master’s students in our program take graduate level courses that cover the four pillars of oceanography: advanced biological oceanography, chemical oceanography, geological oceanography and physical oceanography. We also teach satellite oceanography, a specialized field that is available at few universities nationwide.
